خلاصة
This thesis is one of the important studies in the field of strategic information systems planning, aiming to explore the factors influencing the adoption of strategic information systems planning(SISP) in Yemeni private universities. The study uses the Technology, Organization, and Environment (TOE) framework to identify and analyze these factors.
In this research, quantitative methods were used to analyze the relationship between independent variables—seven key determinants: 1) IT infrastructure, 2) IT-business alignment, 3) top management involvement, 4) experience, 5) end-user training, 6) government regulations, and 7) competition—and the dependent variable, which is the adoption of strategic information systems planning. Data was collected using a questionnaire consisting of 44 items, distributed through a comprehensive survey method to 197 senior management members across five private universities in Yemen: University of Science and Technology, Al-Rashid Smart University, Al-Nasser University, Queen Arwa University, and National University. The questionnaire achieved a response rate of 84.26%, with 166 valid responses. The data was analyzed using various statistical methods, including Pearson's correlation coefficient to examine relationships between variables, multiple linear regression to measure the impact of independent variables on the dependent variable, and construct validity analysis to verify whether the tool achieved the study’s objectives. The results showed that all independent variables positively influenced the adoption of strategic information systems planning, except for top management involvement, which did not exhibit a significant effect on this intention. Based on these findings, the study provided several recommendations focusing on the importance of developing IT infrastructure, enhancing collaboration between IT and administrative planning teams, and offering comprehensive training programs for end-users to increase the chances of adopting strategic information systems planning in Yemeni private universities. This study contributes to reinforcing the critical role that technological, organizational, and environmental factors play in the adoption of strategic information systems planning. It provides scientific evidence to guide decision-makers in Yemeni private universities to enhance their adaptability to technological changes and achieve sustainable competitive advantages.
