خلاصة
Multimedia transmission network is required to communicate between many users with broadband data such as texts, voices, images, and videos. This paper develops a local multimedia transmission network (LMTN) using software that can run on two different operating systems (Windows or Android). The implemented applications facilitate multimedia communication among all connected users in the same building. There is a Windows server program that manages the communication between users on a wireless local area network (WLAN). This server program provides an adaptation of the local multimedia transmission between the two environments Windows and Android. The LMTN supports a good cost-effective solution to multimedia transmission without regard to the Internet. The applications are implemented at the users as clients, since each user has the ability to communicate with other through interactive messages, video or audio calls, or multimedia sharing. There are many protocols supports this network such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and Real-time Transfer Protocol (RTP). The developed LMTN via applications has been implemented with good quality of service (QoS), low complexity, and low cost.
